Catering Lead Instructor

Location: Kissimmee

The Catering Lead Instructor is responsible for managing all catering operations and overseeing the Day-to-day functioning of catering and food truck services, ensuring a high standard of service, compliance, and coordination with academic and industry expectations. This includes teaching and demonstrations in the classroom, laboratory setting, blended or online according to program objectives and course syllabi, assessing student skills, and supervising students in the Catering Culinary and Baking Capstone courses. The Catering Lead Instructor develops daily lesson plans as teaching guidelines based upon the approved curriculum and ensures all learning goals for the courses are met. The Catering Lead Instructor is Full-Time, exempt and directly accountable to the Program Director. Minimum requirements: Associates Degree in Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry, Hospitality Management, or related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in catering operations or food service management. Prior teaching or educational administration experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish language, oral and written. Duties and responsibilities: Teaches and provides hands-on training to students in catering course and throughout the operations. Offers industry insights to enhance the practical learning experience. Comply with institutional policies and accreditation standards regarding faculty qualifications and instructional quality. Complete a minimum of 8 hours of annual professional development training related to teaching or subject matter expertise. Maintain knowledge of the subject matter in the field(s) of appointment and create learning experiences to make the subject matter meaningful and relative to the students. Follow established procedure to keep and maintain accurate student attendance and grade record. Monitors daily student attendance within the program, provide necessary measures to ensure attendance (80%) and retention (minimum 70%) benchmarks. Submit midterm and final grades in Faculty Portal and provide a copy of the grade book to the Program Director and/or Dean of Academic Affairs on time, as directed. Contact students via phone or various methods; participate in faculty meetings and any additional duties. All positions require exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and Adobe, familiarity with information systems, availability to deliver the course using diverse resources, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Academic programs are available on a monthly basis. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements to be considered for the position.
