Position Overview:
The Director of Catering Sales is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive catering sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals. This leadership role oversees all aspects of private event functions from initial inquiry through execution, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The Director leads, mentors, and manages the catering sales team, effectively delegating responsibilities to ensure seamless event coordination and revenue growth. Additionally, this role supports the General Manager by executing strategic initiatives and completing assigned operational tasks that align with the restaurant's overall business objectives.

Pay: $120,000 - $150,000/year
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all reactive and proactive catering sales efforts to achieve revenue goals.
- Develop and execute monthly and quarterly sales strategies and plans.
- Build a strong client base through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
- Represent the property at local events and industry organizations.
- Respond to inquiries, develop new business, and manage key accounts.
- Negotiate and approve contracts for the catering sales team.
- Analyze market trends and competitors to maintain pricing strategy.
- Maximize revenue through upselling and best practices.
- Track department performance and submit accurate sales forecasts and reports.
- Set and achieve individual and team booking goals.
- Ensure successful events that meet client needs and profitability standards.
- Communicate event details clearly to all departments.
- Align sales with operational capabilities to ensure flawless execution.
- Resolve client issues quickly and professionally.
- Provide coaching, support, and feedback to the sales team.
- Recognize and celebrate team achievements.
Education/Experience:
- 5 years of progressive, strong sales experience with a catering company, full-service hotel or restaurant
- Experience managing a Catering Sales Department team
- Experience with Catering Management Software such as Delphi, Certify, SalesForce, etc. (preferred)
- Strong catering sales and event planning experience
- Experience in accurate forecasting, and preparation of sales plans and financial reports
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Work with fluctuating schedule based on departmental requirements.
- Observe all Specialty Restaurants procedures and policies.
- Must be able to create and maintain a team atmosphere with in the department and ensure that team members are appropriately trained and have an adequate work load.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Work with fluctuating schedule based on departmental requirements.
- Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, MS Office, and Outlook.
