Salary: Job Title: Director of Patient Access Services Department: Registration FLSA Classification: Exempt Not Eligible for Overtime Employment Status: Full-Time Location: Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH) Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Job Summary/Objective: The Director of Patient Access Services is responsible for leading and managing all functions related to patient registration, centralized scheduling, and prior authorization. This role ensures an efficient and patient-friendly intake process that includes accurate insurance verification and timely authorizations. The Director plays a critical role in improving patient satisfaction and optimizing operational workflows, while maintaining compliance and utilizing healthcare technology effectively. Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Patient Access team, including staff in registration, scheduling, and prior authorization. Provide supervision, training, coaching, and performance evaluationsto departmental staff. Develop and implement strategies to improve access workflows, reduce patient wait times, and enhance the overall patient experience. Monitor department compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Oversee the implementation and optimization of software systems that support registration, scheduling, and authorizations. Analyze patient access metrics and trends to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Ensuretimely and accurate insurance verification and prior authorizations to support revenue cycle success. Promote a patient-centered culture withhigh standards for customer service and responsiveness. Develop and manage the departmental budget while ensuring cost-effective operations. Skills / Abilities: Demonstrated leadership and team management skills within a healthcare environment. Strong analytical skills with experience in monitoring KPIs and improving outcomes. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. Deep understanding of healthcare regulations, insurance processes, and patient access best practices. Education, Certificates, and License: Education: High School Diploma, Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role within a healthcare setting preferred.
