Title: Food Service Operations Manager State Role Title: Food Service Operations Manager Hiring Range: $31,886 - $54,590 Pay Band: 3 Agency: Dept of Veterans Services Location: Davis & McDaniel Vet Care Ctr Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Supervision of the Food Service Department including cost control, personnel supervision, quality food production, safety and sanitation. Monitors and maintains standards for storing, and preparation of food. Manages dietary operations to ensure compliance with established policy, procedures consistent with accepted nutrition and food service standards, and with directives from Director of Food Service. Assures correct procedures in preparation of food and inspects quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance of food prior to serving. Ensures recipe compliance per production standards of selected menu items via personal observation and active production participation if needed in the preparation process. Initiates procedural correction if needed in the production process as well as education to ensure proper product completion. Conveys any production issues with FSD as well as any resolution initiated. In the absence of resolution, will meet with FSD to arrive at a resolution. Participates in quality control and assurance via sampling products prior to serving to residents, guests and staff. Further regulates quality control in the removal or non-service of those items not prepared to recipe compliance and/or failed sampling process. Monitors adherence to food safety practices in accordance with Food Code as facility policy. Ensure that records regarding dietary operations are accurate as required. All other duties assigned by the Director of Food Service. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Minimum Qualifications May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Meet all health requirements as prescribed. May be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Must have communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of the position. Additional Considerations High school graduate or equivalent. At least 3 years of food service experience. Previous experience working with in long-term care food service management. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Computer skills and the ability to learn and comprehend new software programs. Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements is desirable.
