Your role is pivotal as you oversee a talented team, ensuring the execution of food excellence and exceptional hospitality. Your responsibilities include maintaining order/inventory management, prep organization, and adherence to health and safety standards. You will be the go-to expert in your culinary domain, helping your team excel and fostering an environment oriented towards innovation in food quality and cost management. Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this fast-paced environment. You will constantly update our menu and test new initiatives to enhance business operations, while also training and equipping your culinary team for peak performance. ABOUT THE TEAM: Our restaurants operate using a traditional brigade system, where you serve as the key leader reporting directly to the Chef Operator. You will collaborate closely with restaurant leaders to ensure that the team provides guests with an extraordinary dining experience, contributing to our mission of transforming the food system. YOU WILL: Inspire and guide your culinary team by exemplifying your expertise and positivity to consistently deliver delicious dishes. Maintain food quality and presentation across all service channels, including dine-in, pick-up, and delivery. Oversee the quality of ingredients sourced from our farm partners, managing inventory, supply, prep lists, ordering, and quality assurance. Organize and manage kitchen shifts, including prep schedules and deployment boards, ensuring smooth operations. Conduct line checks to assess readiness, preparation needs, and minimize waste. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, upholding health and safety standards to achieve top grades from health inspections. Manage kitchen facilities, coordinating maintenance efforts and ensuring cleanliness. Work with the Chef Operator to manage labor and food costs effectively. Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and providing performance evaluations for your team. Provide constructive feedback using the DIRECT model, monitoring team effectiveness with timely responses. Uphold Dig's commitment to anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies. YOU HAVE: 1-2+ years of experience managing a restaurant team. A robust work ethic and the ability to motivate and develop culinary talent. A genuine appreciation for your colleagues and team members. Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds. A readiness to assist in various tasks wherever needed. A commitment to personal growth and learning. A passion for building valuable connections within the restaurant community. Strong problem-solving abilities considering multiple variables. Excellent communication skills. A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to challenges. Food Safety Certification.
