Medical Assistant
As a back office float medical assistant, you will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, handling both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. You will support clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Responsibilities
- Assist clinicians in providing quality patient care.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
- Conduct laboratory testing and ensure adherence to quality control requirements.
- Take and record patient vitals, with a preference for manual vitals.
- Support chronic disease management and patient examination.
- Float between locations as patient queues demand.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and the public.
- Assess emergencies and respond appropriately.
Essential Skills
- Medical assisting
- Phlebotomy experience
- Ability to take vitals
- Active BLS certification
- Active driver's license
- Knowledge of medical terminology and universal precaution procedures
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 2 years of experience in a clinic/back office healthcare setting
- MA diploma or Certified MA (CMA) or 3 years' MA experience
- Experience with TriMed EMR preferred
- Independent, responsible, and organized
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite in a medical office setting, with responsibilities requiring floating between various locations in Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Weston, and Hollywood, FL. The role includes a rotating schedule with Week 1 at 42.5 hours and Week 2 at 46.5 hours. Typical work hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and every other Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Sundays are off.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $40000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
