A Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience is needed for a contract position based in Salinas, CA. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care under the supervision of the Director and in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and departmental policies. The Registered Nurse II will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individualized patient care, ensuring age-appropriate and developmental needs are met. Collaboration with physicians, patients families, and healthcare team members to deliver care plans is essential. This position may require flexibility to work across different nursing units as patient needs dictate.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current eligibility as a Registered Nurse I.
• Minimum of one (1) year clinical RN experience preferred, ideally in specialty areas such as the Operating Room.
• Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient responses.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to serve as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing unit needs and hospital activities.
• Knowledge and skills appropriate to the age group served on the assigned unit.

Responsibilities:

• Complete thorough nursing assessments and document findings accurately.
• Develop, coordinate, delegate, and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Lead discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Maintain professional standards through participation in committees, inservices, and quality improvement activities.
• Monitor resource utilization to promote cost-effective care.
• Uphold safety policies to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Actively contribute to achieving departmental goals.
