This is a hybrid position (in office Mon, Wed, Fri) and is within a 1 hour commute from various locations in: Adams County (Littlestown, Gettysburg, Biglerville, York Springs, Orrtanna, New Oxford, McSherrystown) Franklin County (Chambersburg, Shippensburg) Cumberland County (Boiling Springs, Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill) York County (Dillsburg, Lewisberry, Hanover) Perry County Carroll County (Taneytown, Westminster, Hampstead) Washington County (Hagerstown) Frederick County (Thurmont) Martinsburg, WV SUMMARY A Jr. Database Architect or Data Engineer with 4-5 years' experience ready to move into a Data Architect role is ideal for this position. This is very much a hands-on, in the weeds type of role supporting various types of enterprise sized data tables. Build and maintain databases and associated infrastructure. Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity. Develop and optimize current data systems, monitoring performance, supervising data migrations, and creating design reports. Collaborate with database administrators and analysts to secure easy access to company data. Extract data from an existing ERP and other sources and map data to the data warehouse and other reporting tools. Creating database solutions, evaluating requirements, and preparing design reports. Heavy documentation. Support projects across various business units. THE ROLE Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity. Formulates and leads guided, multifaceted analytic studies against large volumes of data. Analyzes problems and determines root causes. Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization. Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it. Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to internal and external process documentation, and documents work. Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues. Works closely with a team of front-end and back-end engineers, product managers, and analysts. Defines company data assets (data models) and jobs to populate those data models. Designs data integrations and data quality framework. Designs and evaluates open source and vendor tools for data lineage. Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties, as needed. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Core Required Skills Knowledge of Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and scripting - required ETL Tool - Oracle Data Integrator preferred Experience developing STAR schemas - required Excellent communication - client facing and heavy documentation General Data Warehousing experience Additional Required Experience Implement and support information security policies Database management, maintenance, performance tuning, and Data/System security Implementation and support of various operating systems and storage systems Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills Process oriented with great documentation skills Promoting process improvement Preferred Skills Unix/Linux OS (Linux preferred) Soft Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service Comfortable presenting to both one-on-one and small groups Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and demographic backgrounds Ability to maintain confidential information PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is generally sedentary but requires ability to move from office to office. Required to rack mount equipment. May be required to use commercial transportation for travel to meetings. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must possess valid motor vehicle operator’s license that is not under suspension or revocation and possess current automobile insurance coverage.
