Medical Assistant
California Premier Pain Clinics is looking for a part-time or full-time medical assistant to join our medical office. Must be willing to work weekends.
Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.
Knowledge of medical office procedures including surgery procedures and practices
Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
Skill in maintaining records and recording test results
Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
Ability to maintain quality control standards including, but not limited to confidentiality
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
Ability to communicate clearly
Knowledge of interrelationship of surgery department with laboratory and radiology
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information
Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipment
Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
Ability to speak clearly and concisely
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management
May perform selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizations
Prepare patients for examination and treatment
Take patient vital signs
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
Give injections, apply splints and dressings
Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals
Screen telephone calls for referral to physician or provider
Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail
Provide general information on departmental policies

Qualifications
High school diploma / GED equivalent required.
Graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants required.
