The Cook & Catering Associate person reports directly to the Head Chef. This position is responsible for food prep, cooking and fulfilling catering orders. This is a part-time position up to 29 hours/week and is classified as
Non-Exempt with no benefits. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).
Essential Functions:
- Preps, cooks and fulfills orders
- Pizza making
- Support for catering events and catering pickup orders
- Requires working on Sunday's
- Performs other duties as assigned by Head Chef or Food Service Director
- Adhere to standard operating procedures for food quality and food handling
- Keeps Registered Food Manager's certificate current
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 3 years in food prep and cooking in a commercial kitchen or restaurant setting.
- Highly organized and detailed oriented
- Able and willing to take direction
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry items while walking
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Demonstrates an energetic and positive attitude
- Reliable and dependable
- Professional in appearance, manner and tone
- A team player who possesses the ability to work in a team environment.
It is expected that the Cook & Catering Associate will be a team player as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He/she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the frameworks of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and/or community change
