Family Practice/Primary Care Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered primary care services to individuals and families across the lifespan. Working within the scope of practice at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the PA works both independently and in collaboration with supervising physicians and other health care providers. The PA plays a key role in improving health outcomes, addressing healthcare disparities, and ensuring accessible care for medically underserved populations.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive medical care including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for acute and chronic conditions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work, imaging, and EKGs. Prescribe medications and develop patient management plans in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, medications, and treatment plans. Perform minor procedures within scope of practice (e.g., suturing, I&Ds, wound care, joint injections). Document all patient care accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, nurses, and support staff to ensure continuity of care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and population health efforts. Comply with FQHC standards and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Support integration of care including behavioral health, dental, and case management services. Provide care in accordance with guidelines from HRSA, NCQA-PCMH, and other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program with a master's degree (preferred). Licensure/Certification: Current and unrestricted PA license in Georgia Current NCCPA certification DEA registration and state prescriptive authority BLS/CPR certification (ACLS preferred)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm Skills: Clinical competence across age groups, including preventive, acute, and chronic care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
