Medical Assistant Lead
The Lead Medical Assistant role is vital to providing exceptional care. The position demands an individual who takes pride in working with patients, provides highly personalized care, and is independent and creative at problem solving. This position provides direct assistance to the doctors, provides direct patient care including phlebotomy, vital signs and is responsible for stocking and maintaining exam rooms. The Lead Medical Assistant greets patients in a warm and confident manner and provides courteous and compassionate care.
Day to day Responsibilities
Direct Patient care
- Rooming patients, including obtaining vital signs
- Schedules a wide array of appointments
- Obtains lab results, Radiology reports, hospital reports and referral information
- Performs phlebotomy
- Prepares operating room for procedures and assists physician during procedures in the operating room
- Prioritize and triage patient flow
- Perform CLIA waived lab tests
- Assist in the supervision of work and performance of ASC medical assistants
- Provides backup support for the ASC medical assistant team, which includes all functions of a medical assistant
- Oversee the daily and monthly quality assurance of equipment (autoclave, GUS filtration system, US machines) and all control and maintenance logs.
- Manage Surgicare inventory (ASC supplies, scrubs, and linen)
Education, Licenses, Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Current BLS Certification
- Surgery center experience preferred
Employment Type
This is a full-time, 5 day a week, 8 hour shift non-exempt onsite position that requires early hours, rotational weekends and holidays.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $28-32/hr. Salary is based on several factors including job related knowledge and skill set, depth of experience, certifications and/or degrees.
