We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our adult neurology practice. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, assisting with procedures, performing basic clinical tasks managing EMR documentation, coordinating referrals and prior authorizations, handling phone calls and patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, efficient in a fast-paced setting, and comfortable with both clinical and administrative duties.

Essential Job Responsibilities : 60;

Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.; collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures; charting; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information. 60;

Fulfills clerical responsibilities including sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; scanning documents into patients charts; managing and updating charts to ensure that information is complete and filed appropriately. 60;

Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up instruments and equipment; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms; Keeps personal office space clean; Participates in rotation to clean restrooms, break room, and take out trash 60;

Fulfills organizational responsibilities as assigned including respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor. xsgimln 60;

Fulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities which may include checking vital signs or mensuration; physical examination preparations; drug administration through various routes including injections; prescription verifications with physician's orders; applying dressings, and suture removal; biohazard waste disposal and monitoring; therapeutic modalities; instructing patients with assistive devices, body mechanics, and home care; specimen handling such as urine; Other duties as assigned. 60;

Salary/Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
