Position Summary: This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected medical practice as a Certified Medical Assistant. Essential Job Functions:

  • Facilitates high-quality patient care under the supervision of the provider.
  • Verify patient information by interviewing patients, documenting medical history, confirming the purpose of visit, and reconciling medication lists.
  • Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary assessments and basic clinical tests.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality by accurately completing, securing, and safeguarding medical records, including proper diagnostic and procedure coding.
  • Assist providers with office procedures, injections, and other clinical tasks as directed.
  • Triage incoming patient calls, review messages with providers, and respond promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate test results, lab findings, and provider instructions to patients, address questions within scope as appropriate.
  • Schedule referrals and follow-up appointments; process prescriptions according to provider instructions.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies and pharmacies, including handling prior authorizations.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment by adhering to established protocols and legal regulations.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, fully stocked, and ready for patient care at all times.
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed.
  • Support proper operation of medical equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting minor issues, and performing routine maintenance.
  • Adhere to clinic policies, professional standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to achieve departmental goals on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of and certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification within four months of hire
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Proficiency in computer use, along with strong telephone and verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, dependable team player with a friendly and professional demeanor; able to multitask efficiently while remaining calm and productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous medical experience preferred, but not required
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are a plus

Hours: M-F 7:45 am-5 pm, with Thursday afternoons off.
