JOB DESCRIPTION
The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is located in the center of the bustling Seaport District. The AAA Four Diamond rated hotel boasts 1,054 finely appointed guestrooms with 52 suites, seven delectable dining experiences, a scenic rooftop pool, a luxury Breve Spa, and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space allowing to provide each guest a unique and memorable experience. POSITION OVERVIEW:
Grab the reigns and help shape the future of the Seaport's best kept secret! Creativity must infuse everything we do, and everyone in the Hotel. Performance realities will always exist, but we use these constraints to push, not limit, our creativity.
To ensure that all food items received meet the approved criteria established by the hotel Food and Beverage/Purchasing Departments. Conducts a thorough, but prompt, inspection of every delivery to ascertain proper specification factors to determine acceptability.
The hourly rate for this position is $31.26
Responsibilities:
Check shipment by comparing it with Daily Order Sheet and invoice to ensure that what we are receiving is what was ordered (quantity, price, quality state, size, count, weight tolerance and acceptable expiration date).
Submit daily a progress report to Purchasing for outstanding deliveries.
Direct the traffic of all incoming items until they have been properly dated, priced, labeled or tagged. The pricing procedure is to be done by the Receiving Agent, Storeroom Manager or Assistant Purchasing Manager only. All items will be priced out "as purchased", i.e., per each, per pound, per case.
Labels all incoming bread and bakery deliveries as to outlet or banquet function.
Conduct random spot-checks of all perishable items for proper storing and packaging to guard against quality loss due to over-exposure to storage temperatures, improper rotation, etc.
Assists and directs inventory documentaries along with the Storeroom Manager as necessary.
Assists Storeroom Clerks in filling requisitions and sanitation maintenance daily.
Assist in conducting End-Of-Month Physical Inventory.
Qualifications: Must be flexible and available to work AM/and or PM/ shifts, weekends, and holidays (25-30 hours/week).
Excellent customer service and Computer skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic math is required.
Hotel experience preferred
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to bend and lift items of moderate to heavy weight, minimum of 50lbs.
Working Environment: Interior of hotel and loading dock.
Exposure to various weather conditions.
Exposure to walk-in coolers.
Tools & Equipment: Experience with Birch Street & MS Office preferred
Computer, copy machine
Hand truck, lift-jack and dolly
