Applicants should have a particular interest in complex child custody matters, including cases involving inter-state or inter-national jurisdiction, inter-county venue, move-away, appellate issues, domestic violence, sexual abuse, alienation, special needs, and challenging inter-parent dynamics. Strong math skills for asset division and support computation are very helpful. Applicants may also be interested in family-law-adjacent matters such as Probate, Immigration, Bankruptcy, and Criminal (e.g. contempt prosecution and domestic violence defense).Candidates should display a strong interest in courtroom work, legal research, and making a difference in the field. The ideal candidate must be comfortable handling a case load; researching applicable law; drafting and arguing requests for orders; making court appearances, including long cause trials; and displaying fluency with discovery issues, including complex discovery. This position requires excellent time management, attention to detail, strong work ethic and dependability.
