Dishwasher Position
Reports to: Chef
Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods. Major areas of responsibility include:
- Keeping the dishwashing area clean and safe
- Scraping, rinsing, and loading dishes and utensils into dish machine
- Washing and sanitizing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand
- Placing clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas
- Sorting and removing trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
- Sweeping or mopping floors
- Maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Cleaning garbage cans with water and soap
- Storing supplies
- Stocking supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, or refrigerators
- Transferring supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks
- Cleaning dish machine breaking down at the end of the night
- Performing additional cleaning duties as requested
- Maintaining a positive and professional approach to coworkers and customers
