Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Telemetry position requiring Epic proficiency, cardiac drip experience, and a CA RN license.

Details

• Hospital telemetry unit setting with a resource pool/float pool structure
• Floats to all areas except L&D/Women's, ED, and Special Procedures
• Patient population includes high Medicare/geriatric patients with multiple comorbidities, with a strong focus on MS/Tele patients experiencing DM, COPD, cardiovascular disease, hepatic conditions, oncology, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, and vascular cases
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• May be called off or placed on-call once per pay period; on-call requires a 60-minute callback
• Epic EMR — proficiency required
• Navy or white scrubs required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Active BLS certification required
• ACLS, PCCN, and ONS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry RN experience required
• Must have at least 3 of the following 5 cardiac drip experiences: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin
• Central line experience required
• IV start skills required
• Telemetry monitoring skills required
• Vascular and oncology experience preferred
• Experience in a teaching hospital with residents highly preferred
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Must have a successful travel history with 0-1 prior cancellations — first-time travelers are not accepted (exception: 10+ years of experience in a teaching hospital with residents)
• Flu vaccine required; exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to a complex, high-acuity patient population across multiple units
• Experience with sepsis and alcohol withdrawal protocols expected
• Teaching hospital environment with resident physicians
• All time-off requests must be disclosed at the time of application
